Janis Reisulis was second fastest less than half a second off the pace with the impressive Simone Manncini third fastest on his Fantic.
Hakon Osterhagen who has had a slow start to the season is starting to show improvements and was fourth fastest on his AIT Fantic machine.
Noel Zanocz rounded out the top five on his JM Honda.
British riders, Billy Askew and Bobby Bruce were sixth and eighth fastest respectively.
